Some chores feel too small to fix, so we keep doing them by hand. Photographing a stack of paper one page at a time. Clicking through an inbox one email at a time. Opening the calendar just to find a free hour. Re-explaining yourself to every new AI tool. This week there is one fix for each, one per tool. A quick note before you try any of them: AI can sound sure and still be wrong, so check anything about money, health, or safety against a real source, and think twice before you scan or paste private details into a tool you do not fully trust.
Claude: find a free hour on your iPhone calendar

In the Claude app on iPhone, Claude can read your calendar and point out open slots, so you do not have to scroll through it yourself.
- Open the Claude app on your iPhone.
- Ask in plain words, like “When am I free Thursday afternoon for a 30 minute call?”
- When Claude asks for permission to read your calendar, allow it.
- If you want the time held, ask Claude to create the event.
When to reach for it: reach for it when you are juggling a few commitments and want a quick answer without opening the calendar. It works in the iOS app, on every plan. Claude can only edit events you own, so do not count on it to move a meeting someone else set up.

ChatGPT: scan a stack of pages into one PDF

ChatGPT can now scan several pages in a row and combine them into a single PDF, ready to ask questions about.
- Open the camera in the ChatGPT app on your iPhone.
- Tap the three-dot menu and select Scan.
- Capture each page in a row. ChatGPT combines them into one PDF.
- Send it in your chat and ask your question, like what a form wants from you or which dates matter.
When to reach for it: reach for it when what you need to understand is a few pages of paper, like a school packet or a rental agreement. OpenAI lists it as rolling out on iOS, so you may not see it yet, and the note does not mention Android. Skip scanning anything with account or ID numbers you would not type into a chat.

Copilot: clean up your inbox in plain words

In Outlook, Microsoft 365 Copilot can now delete, move, copy, and categorize emails when you ask in everyday language. It can also set up folders and inbox rules.
- Open Copilot Chat in Outlook.
- Type what you want done, like “Delete all unread newsletters from last week.”
- Or ask it to sort, like “Move emails from the school about permission slips to my Kids folder.”
- Confirm when Copilot asks. It checks with you before it acts on more than five emails or changes an inbox rule.
When to reach for it: reach for it when the mess is too big to sort by hand but you know the rule in your head. This is a Microsoft 365 Copilot feature that works on your work data in Outlook, not the free Copilot app. Microsoft lists it for Outlook on Windows, Mac, the web, and mobile. Read what it plans to delete before you say yes.

Gemini: bring your memory over from another AI

If you have used ChatGPT or Claude for a while, Gemini can import your memory and your chat history, so it does not start out knowing nothing about you.
- On gemini.google.com, open Settings & help and select Import memory to Gemini.
- Copy the prompt Gemini gives you and paste it into a chat on your other AI tool.
- Copy that tool’s answer, go back to Gemini, paste it in, and select Add memory.
- To bring old chats too, export them from the other tool (ChatGPT: Settings, Data controls, Export. Claude: Settings, Privacy, Export). Then under Import chats, select Add and choose the .zip file.
When to reach for it: reach for it when you are trying Gemini after months somewhere else and do not want to start over. You need a personal Google account, you must be 18 or older, and Google says it is not available in the EEA, Switzerland, or the United Kingdom. Google also says imported data falls under its Privacy Policy and is used to improve its services, so read your memory before you paste it. A chat import can take up to a day.

Try this
Pick the one chore that annoys you most and try only that. If it is paper, scan a form with nothing private on it and ask what the deadline is. If it is your calendar, ask Claude to find a free 30 minutes on Thursday. Then check what the tool told you against the real thing once, so you know how far to trust it.
