This directory is only as good as what people are willing to write down. If you found real hours, waited out a real waitlist, or learned what something actually costs — that is exactly the detail no official listing carries. Add it for the next family.
What helps most
Actual operating hours, not the ones on the website. How long you really waited. What you really paid. Whether they picked up the phone.
You do not need the whole picture
A name, a town, and one honest note is a useful entry. Leave anything you are unsure about blank rather than guessing.
Everything is reviewed first
Submissions are held until a person reads them. Nothing appears on this page automatically, and you can submit anonymously.
Duplicates are welcome
If a place is already listed, add yours anyway. Two families describing the same waitlist differently is more useful than one, not a mistake to clean up.
Why This Exists
The gap official directories don't fill.
Real hours, not listed hours
State and hospital directories publish a phone number and an address. They rarely publish when a place is actually open, whether the office hours match the care hours, or who picks up after five.
Honest waitlist timelines
“Contact us for availability” tells a family nothing. What helps is someone saying they applied in March and got a spot in November. That is the kind of note this directory collects.
Everyone a household looks after
Families caring for young children and families caring for aging parents are often the same families — and plenty of them are looking after an animal too. Childcare, elder care and pet care sit in one place here instead of across three separate systems, because the week they all go wrong is the same week.
Two sources, clearly marked
The baseline comes from official state and public records, so the list covers towns nobody has written about yet. The detail comes from families and caregivers. Every card names where it came from, submissions are reviewed before they publish, and several people can add a note to the same place — more data points, not duplicates to clean up.
